Testimony on the Possible Health Effects on a Proposed Power Plant

The consultant is an expert in environmental epidemiology. A new coal burning power plant (with state-of-of-the-art control devices) was proposed by the metropolitan energy company for that area. The consultant was able to provide written and oral testimony to put the possible health effects from particulates and other air pollutants from the proposed plant in the proper public health context. By being scientifically sophisticated and an experienced epidemiologist, the consultant was able to calm the fears of the public and opponents to the planned facility. The facility is now being built.
