Steel Mill Annealing Furnaces

An Ohio steel mill operator sued a supplier for the non-performance to specifications of eight new large bell-annealing furnaces. This consultant was retained as an expert on these furnaces by the plaintiff steel mill owner. After inspecting them, it was determined that they were not according to industry standards. The construction was very shoddy, using light-weight materials instead of "industrial grade" (e.g. : electro-metallic tubing rather than schedule 40 conduit), poor construction techniques, and flimsy supporting mechanisms. Also, the various units were supposed to be interchangeable, and they were not. This consultant's deposition led to the successful resolution of the case for the client steel company.
