Patent Infringement Cease and Desist Consultation

This consultant was hired as a consulting expert by a client to assist that client in responding to a cease and desist letter alleging patent infringement. The technology areas included both semiconductor device processing and device assembly. This consultant performed a detailed analysis of the patents in question and was able to find significant prior art that could have been used to challenge the validity of the patents at issue in any upcoming court actions. Additionally, this expert reviewed in detail the client's own patents and the client's manufacturing processes and was able to issue an expert report that established that the client was not infringing and further established that the client's patents were valid and enforceable. Based on the work of the consultant, the client was able to negotiate a cross licensing agreement with the party alleging infringement using the client's own patents.
