New Inkjet Printer Technology Assessment

A major manufacturer of printers and copiers developed a new approach to inkjet printers and hired this expert consultant to assess the technology in the light of existing and potential future competing printing technologies and to assist them in identifying vendors for the different proprietary subsystems involved in the printer. This consultant's assessment showed that the approach was inherently non-manufacturability and recommended that the company not pursue the venture. Instead the company decided to proceed with the printer scheme, and for all the reasons that had been outlined to them the project failed to result in a viable product.
