MRSA Infections Assessment

This consultant conducted a study to assess the source of MRSA infections in a group of students at a local facility.

Reports of MRSA infections were analyzed and found to be occurring in a group of students at a local facility. An epidemiologic investigation was conducted to characterize the outbreak, assess risk factors, identify the source and initiate control measures to prevent further spread.

The source was identified to be the wrestling mats at the facility and control measures were initiated to prevent further spread.

Ongoing surveillance to identify new cases and evaluate effectiveness of control measures was initiated and the outbreak was contained.
