Biomedical Engineering and Turbomachinery Expert Consultant Resume
This expert specializes in heat transfer, fluid flow, biomedical engineering and instrumentation.
This expert's current research focuses on the development and use of new instrumentation for measuring heat transfer. Applications include high-temperature unsteady flows, such as found in gas turbine engines and for non-invasively measuring blood perfusion in the human body.
This consultant has received research funding from The Whitaker Foundation, Department of Energy, The National Science Foundation, and NASA Langley. This consultant has also received funding through NASA Dryden, AFOSR, NASA Lewis, NIH, Sandia Labs and a number of industries. This consultant formed a national committee to address the standards available for heat flux calibration, which resulted in the initiation of a standards effort in heat flux by NIST. This consultant is active with the ASTM E21.08 Committee, writing new standards for heat flux gages. At the NASA Lewis Research Center, this expert worked on several experiments in gas turbine heat transfer.
This expert has extensive knowledge and is a published author in areas including advances in heat flux measurement, high temperature heat flux measurements, and high-frequency heat flux sensor calibration and modeling. Other areas of this consultant's expertise include heat flux, experimental measurements and modeling of the effects of large-scale freestream turbulence on heat transfer, and testing of a non-invasive probe for measurement of blood perfusion. Temperature and heat flux measurement, and simultaneous heat flux and velocity measurements in a transonic turbine cascade are other areas of interest this consultant has explored.
