Facility Engineer, Bath Iron Works Corporation, Bath, ME
Design and Maine DEP/Army Corps permitting for wetlands roadway including creation of new 0.5 ac saltwater wetlands and precast concrete retaining walls for 200T transporter roadway. Concept through completion of $2M 4-story medical building connecting two older buildings for ADA access throughout, with union and non-union labor on confined site. Permitting for dredge material land spreading and for snow dumping. Concept through completion of new Robotics facility (including relocation and rehabilitation of 20-ton overhead crane) and new Wire-Spray Aluminum facility. Design and management of projects for industrial welding ventilation, and of replacement of window-mounted air conditioners with unitary systems (3+ buildings). Managed design and project engineer for construction of portable pipe flushing rig. Inspection and repair design, 100-year-old North Wharf. Determined needed repairs for concrete launching ways, tidal, funded and inspected the repairs. Most projects included developing scope, creating capital funding requests, and all included scheduling and cost control. Projects included marine structures, heavy industrial buildings and fixtures, office and medical areas, rentals, subcontracting and vendors, accommodating disabilities, parking lots, industrial ventilation.
