Computer Printer Manufacturing Failure

A manufacturer of computer printers was having difficulty launching a new model due to premature bearing failure. Catastrophic bearing failure occurred at a fraction of the desired number of pages. Bearing and lubrication expert consultants from Kevin Kennedy Associates were summoned and immediately identified the problems :

Fourier transform Infrared Analysis confirmed that the bearing vendor was not using the specified synthetic grease.

Dynamic computer simulation of the system indicated that the selected bearings were expected to operate above their rated capacity. Adjustments in load factors resolved that issue.

Expertise from the Kevin Kennedy Associates Rapid Response Team® put the project back on track.
